please move if I've posted on the wrong board. Posting here because I think mortgage experts will know about credit searches. I'm with other half and we are filling in a form to get a loan for fitted furniture. Only doing a loan because Sharp's offered us a big discount if we finance the purchase via a loan. Checked that we are able to repay the loan almost immediately and we can so I don't know who makes money on this! Anyway we had negotiated a big discount on the inflated price (as you do) and then had to fill in the credit form which is used to do a credit search. It asked for current salary details. Is it allowed to understate salary? secondly is that info stored so that if we remortgage a previously stated salary could jepordise our mortgage application?
