CCJ's
Having a county court judgement registered against
you is far more common than you may think. Each year in UK approximately
1 million CCJ's are registered.
It can happen all too easily, sometimes without you
even being aware of it. A divorce, unemployment, or perhaps that
large bill that you simply couldn't afford to pay. Whatever the
reason once you have a CCJ registered against your name, your chances
of getting a mortgage or remortgage accepted by a high street lender
are very unlikely.
It's a simple fact that it's much easier for a lender
to simply refuse your application rather than investigate the circumstances
that led to your problem.
Even if you have paid the debt off and the judgement
is now marked as satisfied the CCJ will remain on your credit file
for a period of 6 years.
